Welcome to the True Yoga Blog
How True Yoga Blog Will Help You understand what Yoga truly is and give tips on Yoga, Meditation & Wellbeing
By Karen Ingman
I am writing the True Yoga Blog because it is important that the world understands yoga’s true essence, because a lot of yoga is about performance and competition. Yoga is not to be performed, it is not a competition, it is to be lived.
Yoga asanas were channelled by dedicated meditators, “truth seekers”, for everyone, in order to prepare the body and mind for communing with the mystic nature of life through meditation, enacting a drama of inner-transformation, and thereby uplift the consciousness of humanity and free us of suffering.
I think we all realise that we need to change and we are all connected so that the world can change and that the time is now!
My aim is to enhance your potential and share tools for your empowerment through yoga and meditation and philosophy that deepens your sense of what the meaning and purpose of life is. You yourself are the protagonist.
My passion is to share the wonders and challenges of all aspects of yoga- meditation/chanting, breath/pranayama, and philosophy, as well as nutrition and health. I will do this by publishing a weekly blog with discussion, tips, links or videos on any aspect of yoga and wellbeing.
Asanas and Breath:
Growing up I loved to dance, and I tried different styles after I hurt my ankle in ballet. Having had a very critical contemporary dance teacher I developed a lack of confidence in my body as well as dancing. Ten years later I found my dance again in yoga and this journey has renewed my confidence in, and love of my body, and led me on a path of discoveries.
Chanting, Meditation and Philosophy:
At around the same time at Glastonbury music festival a friend introduced me to the powerful practice of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and the cosmic and humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism, and together both have infused my life with passion, wisdom, courage and la joie de vie no matter what the challenges! Deep gratitude for the gift of the Mystic Law of life!
Health:
At the time I was already studying Chinese medicine and the five elements and yin yang philosophy, and together they have all informed and led me to a deeper understanding of the essence of life, how it works and how to live a great life!
Nothing is impossible, everything is possible! Both suffering and joy are facts of life. Keep communing with the mystic no matter what happens!
